I recently stayed at Omiros Hotel in Rethymno for 4 nights, using it as a base to explore the region. The hotel is well-designed, with comfortable and homey rooms. The facilities, including the pool and rooftop Jacuzzi, were excellent. The location is quiet, but it's a nice walk along the beach to the town center. The staff, especially Effi, Maria, and Stella, were amazing - friendly. a great hotel experience!
